         OPTION A)  y = 4x
Community Answer
A body moving from rest with uniform acceleration travels a distance X...
Solution:

Given, Initial velocity u=0, Acceleration a=constant, Distance travelled in first t seconds=x, Distance travelled in next 2t seconds=y.

Let's find the expressions for x and y:

1. Distance travelled in first t seconds:
We know that, Distance travelled,
s=ut+1/2at²
Here, u=0, a=constant
s=1/2at²
So, x=1/2at²

2. Distance travelled in next 2t seconds:
The initial velocity for this motion is the final velocity of the first motion.
We know that, Final velocity,
v=u+at
Here, u=0, a=constant
So, v=at
Now, Distance travelled,
s=vt+1/2at²
s=at(2t)+1/2a(2t)²
s=2at²+2at²
So, y=4at²

We need to find the relation between y and x.
y/x=(4at²)/(1/2at²)
y/x=8
y=8x

Therefore, the correct option is (A) y=4x.
