The question should be solved using Kirchoff's voltage Law.

So, we would have the following circuit diagram

and by using Kirchoff's Laws we get
in loop CDEBC,
2I2 + 50(I1 + I2) = 2 .             .(1)
so,
50I1 + 52I2 = 2 .                  .(2)
and
in loop CDFAC,
1I1 + 50(I1 + I2) = 1.5 .            .(3)
so,
51I1 + 50I2 = 1.5 .              .(4)
now,
by solving for I1 and I2 we get
I1 = -0.144 amps
I2 = 0.177 amps
so, the potential difference across the 50 ohm resistor will be
VCD = (I1 + I2) x 50 = (-0.144 + 0.177) x 50
thus, we have VCD = 1.65 volts

The electromotive force (emf) of a cell represents the maximum potential difference it can provide across its terminals, while the internal resistance represents the resistance within the cell itself.

In this case, we have two cells with emfs of 3V and 4V, both with an internal resistance of 1 ohm.

To calculate the total emf and internal resistance when the cells are connected in series, we need to add the voltages and internal resistances:

Total emf = emf1 + emf2
= 3V + 4V
= 7V

Total internal resistance = internal resistance1 + internal resistance2
= 1 ohm + 1 ohm
= 2 ohms

Therefore, when the cells are connected in series, the total emf is 7V and the total internal resistance is 2 ohms.
