And Reason are true and the Reason is a correct explanation of the Assertion.b)If both Assertion and Reason are true but the Reason is not a correct explanation of the Assertion.c)If Assertion is true but Reason is false.d)If both Assertion and Reason are false.

Answer: A) If both Assertion and Reason are true and the Reason is a correct explanation of the Assertion.

Explanation:

Sporoderm is the outer layer of the pollen grain wall, which is made up of two layers - exine and intine. The exine is further differentiated into two layers - the outer ektexine and the inner endexine. The ektexine is composed of sporopollenin, which is a highly resistant, inert and stable biopolymer. It provides protection to the pollen grain against desiccation, UV radiation, and microbial attack. The pectocellulosic layer is present beneath the exine and is composed of pectin and cellulose.

Therefore, both the Assertion and Reason are true. The Reason explains the composition of the exine and how it is differentiated into two layers. Hence, option A is the correct answer.

A: In sporoderm, pectocellulosic layer is surrounded by sporopollenin....
Correct ans is B
In sporoderm ,two layers are present --
1)inner is Intine -which is made up of pectocellulosic
2) outer is exine-which is made up of sporopollenin
that mean Intine is surrounded by exine and we can say that pectocellulosic is surrounded by sporopollenin
so, 1st statement is correct
Exine contains two layer-
1) inner is Endexine
2) outer is Ektexine
that mean 2nd statement also correct
But 2nd statement is not the explain 1st reason
so and correct ans is B
