  • Length of copper wire = 2 km = 2000 m

  • Radius of copper wire = 2 mm = 0.002 m

  • Resistivity of copper = 1.72 x 10^-8 Ωm



Formula:

The formula to calculate the resistance of a wire is:

R = ρl / A

Where,


  • R = Resistance of wire in ohms (Ω)

  • ρ = Resistivity of copper in ohm-meters (Ωm)

  • l = Length of wire in meters (m)

  • A = Cross-sectional area of the wire in square meters (m^2)



Calculation:

The cross-sectional area of the copper wire can be calculated as:

A = πr^2

Where,
