Full-load copper loss (Pcu) = 800 W
Power factor (pf) = 0.8 lagging

To find: Efficiency of transformer at full load

Formula used: Efficiency (η) = Output power / Input power

Calculation:
1. Input power = Output power + losses
2. Output power = S × pf = 50 × 0.8 = 40 kW
3. Total losses = Pi + Pcu = 500 + 800 = 1300 W
4. Input power = Output power + losses = 40,000 W + 1300 W = 41,300 W
5. Efficiency (η) = Output power / Input power = 40,000 W / 41,300 W = 0.9685 or 96.85%

Therefore, the efficiency of the transformer at full load and 0.8 p.f. lagging is 96.85% (approx).
