Given data:

Number of poles (P) = 4

Frequency (f) = 50 Hz

Synchronous speed (Ns) = (120f)/P = (120×50)/4 = 1500 rpm

Actual speed (N) = 1440 rpm

We know that,

N = Ns(1-s)

Where,

s = slip

So,

s = (Ns - N)/Ns = (1500 - 1440)/1500 = 0.04 or 4%

Therefore, the slip speed = s × Ns = 0.04 × 1500 = 60 rpm

Hence, the correct option is (D) 60 rpm.
