Anushilan Samiti of Dacca was founded by Pulin Das, a Bengali revolutionary and a member of the Jugantar group. He founded this revolutionary organization in 1906 in Dacca (now Dhaka) with the aim of overthrowing the British rule in India.
Pulin Das and his associates believed in the use of violent means to achieve their goal of independence. Anushilan Samiti of Dacca was one of the many revolutionary organizations that emerged in Bengal during the early 20th century.
The organization was influenced by the ideas of the Italian revolutionary Giuseppe Mazzini and had a hierarchical structure with a central committee and various regional branches. The members of Anushilan Samiti of Dacca carried out several acts of violence against the British authorities, including assassinations, bomb attacks and robberies.
Pulin Das himself was involved in the assassination of a British police officer in 1908 and was later arrested and hanged in 1909. Despite its violent methods, Anushilan Samiti of Dacca played a significant role in the Indian independence movement and inspired many other revolutionaries to take up arms against the British rule.
