Distal Centriole in Sperm
- In sperm cells, the centrosome is located near the tail region and is called the basal body.
- The distal centriole in the sperm forms the axial filament, which is a long tail-like structure that helps the sperm move.
- The proximal centriole forms the basal body, which anchors the axial filament to the cell membrane.
