Calculation of Minimum Line Voltage Required for Full Load Torque

Given:

Voltage (V) = 440 V

Frequency (f) = 50 Hz

X0/R2 = 3/1

Maximum torque (Tmax) = 4 x Full load torque (TFL)

To find:

Minimum line voltage required for full load torque (TFL)

Formula:

TFL = (V)2 / [(2πf)(R1+R2)2/s]

Tmax = (V)2 / [(2πf)(R2/s)2]

X1/R1 = X0/R2

Calculation:

From the given data, we can say that Tmax = 4 x TFL

Therefore, (V)2 / [(2πf)(R2/s)2] = 4 x (V)2 / [(2πf)(R1+R2)2/s]

Solving for s, we get s = 2

Therefore, X1/R1 = X0/R2 = 3/1

From the equivalent circuit of the motor, we can say that

X1 = X0/3 and R1 = R2/3

Therefore, X1 = (X0/R2) x R2/3 = 1 and R1 = R2/3

Substituting the values in the formula for TFL, we get

TFL = (V)2 / [(2πf)(4R2/9)]

TFL = (V)2 / [(8πfR
