In whose name was Biharsharif, a Muslim pilgrim centre, christened?a)...
Biharsharif was named after a Sufi saint named Makhdoom Sharfuddin Ahmed Yahya. He is popularly known as Hazrat Makhdum-ul Mulk Bihari or Makhdum-e-Jahan for his spiritual status. At the age of 12, he left his birthplace, Maner, to gain traditional knowledge of Arabic, Persian, logic, philosophy and religion under Ashraf-ud-dîn Abu Towama Bokharaei in Sonargaon near Narainganj now in Dhaka, Bangladesh, where he spent 24 years in his company. He later went on to Rajgir where he chose to do ascetic exercises in the hills. A hot spring, Mukhdoom Kund, was also named after him where he often prayed. Sultan Muhammad Tughlaq had built a Khanqah for him where he taught and trained disciples in Sufism – tasawwuf.
Hence, the correct option is (c).
