Hepatitis B virus (HBV): Transmission and Vaccine

Transmission of HBV
Hepatitis B virus (HBV) is a serious liver infection caused by the hepatitis B virus. It can be transmitted through various means such as:

- Blood transfusion
- Sexual contact
- Saliva
- Tears
- Intravenous drug abuse
- Tattooing
- Ear and nose piercing
- Sharing of razors, etc.

HBV can be spread through any activity that involves contact with blood or other bodily fluids of an infected person.

Hepatitis B Virus Vaccine
The HBV vaccine is a highly effective and safe vaccine that can prevent hepatitis B infection. It is the first commercially available human vaccine produced by genetic engineering. The vaccine is produced using recombinant DNA technology and is the second-generation vaccine produced from transgenic yeast.

The vaccine contains a protein from the HBV surface called the surface antigen (HBsAg). This protein is produced using recombinant DNA technology and is purified before being used in the vaccine. When the vaccine is given, the body's immune system recognizes the protein as foreign and produces antibodies against it. These antibodies protect the body from future HBV infection.

Conclusion
In summary, the correct option is D, i.e., all of the statements are correct. HBV can be transmitted through various means, and the HBV vaccine is a highly effective and safe vaccine produced using recombinant DNA technology. It contains a protein from the HBV surface and can protect the body from future HBV infection.
