State one main function of the following:- 1) glomerlus 2) neohrone of...
Glomerulus
The main function of the glomerulus is filtration. It is a network of capillaries located in the Bowman's capsule in the kidney.
- Filtration: The glomerulus filters waste products, excess ions, and water from the blood to form a fluid called glomerular filtrate. This filtrate then moves on to further processing in the nephron.

Nephron of Kidney Tubule
The nephron of the kidney tubule performs several important functions in the process of urine formation.
- Filtration: The nephron filters the glomerular filtrate to separate waste products, ions, and water from the blood.
- Reabsorption: It reabsorbs essential substances such as glucose, amino acids, and water back into the bloodstream to maintain the body's balance.
- Secretion: The nephron also secretes additional waste products and ions into the filtrate to ensure they are removed from the body in urine.
- Concentration: The nephron helps in concentrating the urine by reabsorbing water in the collecting duct, depending on the body's hydration status.

Loop of Henle
The loop of Henle plays a crucial role in maintaining the concentration gradient of the medulla in the kidney.
- Countercurrent exchange: The loop of Henle creates a countercurrent multiplier system that allows for the reabsorption of water and ions, enabling the kidney to concentrate urine and conserve water.
- Water reabsorption: The descending limb of the loop of Henle reabsorbs water as it moves through the hypertonic medulla, while the ascending limb reabsorbs ions.
- Concentration gradient: By establishing a concentration gradient in the medulla, the loop of Henle aids in the reabsorption of water in the collecting duct, leading to the production of concentrated urine.
