Actually,there is nothing like that. Anyone who is eligible to appear for the CLAT can choose any NLU as their 1st, 2nd, 3rd preference and so on. You just have to have above 45% to be able to register for the exam. Thats all. Your 12th board marks are not really considered. That is the official rule. However, we have to keep in mind that NLS Bangalore, NALSAR Hyderabad and NUJS Kolkata are the top three choices (even NLIU Bhopal and NLIU Jodhpur) for 'majority' of the students appearing for the exam. So getting a seat in any of those is really tough. While your 12th boards percentage is not taken into account except for your eligibility, it does reflect how much effort you put into your studies.(If you get a not so good percebtage in your 12th for some other reason, then don't worry about all that. Just prepare for your CLAT). But remember, people who have got 74% in their boards made it to NLS Bangalore, while some people with 96% and more have not been able to make it. Its all about your brain. This is an exam where you cannot mug up. So all the best.P.s- You have to know where you stand and if you can keep up with the others even if you somehow do make it.
