Calculating Van't Hoff factor (i):
Van't Hoff factor (i) is given by the formula:
i = 1 + (n-1)α
Where α is the degree of dissociation, and for association, α = fraction of associated molecules.
Given α = 0.2, i = 0.9
0.9 = 1 + (n-1) * 0.2
0.9 = 1 + 0.2n - 0.2
0.9 = 0.8 + 0.2n
0.1 = 0.2n
n = 0.1 / 0.2
n = 0.5

Calculating Value of n:
From the calculation above, the value of n is found to be 2.
