Understanding the Organization's Employee Structure
The organization has a total of 2400 employees, with a male-to-female ratio of 5:3.
- Total Males and Females:
- Males = 5/(5+3) * 2400 = 1500
- Females = 3/(5+3) * 2400 = 900
Distribution of Employees in Departments
- HR Department:
- 12% of males work in HR = 0.12 * 1500 = 180 males
- Using the ratio of males to females in HR (6:11), let the number of females be 11x and males be 6x.
- 6x = 180, thus x = 30.
- Therefore, females in HR = 11x = 330.
- Accounts Department:
- 24% of females work in Accounts = 0.24 * 900 = 216 females.
- Remaining females = 900 - (330 + 216) = 354 females.
- IT Department:
- Total in IT = 285 (given).
- Females in IT = 1/9 of females = 1/9 * 900 = 100.
- Therefore, males in IT = 285 - 100 = 185.
- Production Department:
- 42% of males in Production = 0.42 * 1500 = 630 males.
- Females in Production = 10% of males = 0.10 * 630 = 63 females.
Calculating Total Employees in Accounts
- Total employees in Accounts = Males in Accounts + Females in Accounts.
- Males in Accounts = Total Males - (Males in HR + Males in IT + Males in Production + Males in Marketing).
- Males in Marketing = 22% of 1500 = 330.
- Thus, Males in Accounts = 1500 - (180 + 185 + 630 + 330) = 175.
- Total in Accounts = 175 + 216 = 391.
Percentage Calculation
- Percentage of employees in Accounts = (Total in Accounts / Total Employees) * 100.
- = (391 / 2400) * 100 = 16.29%.
Thus, the total number of employees working in the Accounts department forms 16.29% of the total employees in the organization.

Directions: Study the given information carefully to answer the quest...
Total number of employees in Organisation = 2400
The ratio of male to female employees in the Organisation is 5:3 respectively means
The number of males = 5/8 x 2400 = 1500
The number of females = 3/8 x 2400 = 900
As 12% of the males work in the HR department, Number of males in HR department = 12/100 x 1500 = 180
As 24% of the females work in the Accounts,
Number of females in Accounts department = 24/100 x 900 = 216
The ratio of males to females working in the HR department is 6:11 means
Number of females in HR department = 11/6 x 180 = 330
One ninth of the females work in the IT. So, Number of females work in IT department = 1/9 x 900 = 100
42% of the males work in the Production. So, number of males work in the Production
= 42/100 x 1500 = 630
Number of females is working in the Production department is 10% of the males working in the same.
Number of females work in the Production = 10/100 x 630 = 63
Number of females working in the marketing department = 900 - (216 + 330 + 100 + 63) = 191
The total number of employees working in the IT department is 285.
Number of males working in IT = 285 - 100 = 185
22% of the males work in the Marketing department.
Number of males males work in the Marketing department = 22/100 x 1500 = 330
Number of males works in Accounts = 1500 - (180 + 630 + 185 + 330) = 1500 -1325 = 175
Total number of employees working in Accounts department = 175 + 216 = 391
Total number of employees working in the organisation = 2400
Percent = 391/2400 x 100 = 16.29%
