Directions: Study the given information carefully to answer the question that follows:
An organisation consists of 2400 employees working in different departments, viz. HR, Marketing, IT, Production and Accounts. The ratio of male to female employees in the organisation is 5 : 3. 12 percent of the males work in the HR department. 24 percent of the females work in the Accounts department. The ratio of males to females working in the HR department is 6 : 11. One-ninth of the females work in the IT department and 42 percent of the males work in the Production department. The number of females working in the production department is 10 percent of that of the males working in the same department. The remaining females work in the Marketing department. The total number of employees working in the IT department is 285. 22 percent of the males work in the Marketing department and the remaining work in the Accounts department.

Total number of employees in Organisation = 2400
The ratio of male to female employees in the Organisation is 5:3 respectively means
The number of males = 5/8 x 2400 = 1500
The number of females = 3/8 x 2400 = 900
As 12% of the males work in the HR department, Number of males in HR department = 12/100 x 1500 = 180
As 24% of the females work in the Accounts,
Number of females in Accounts department = 24/100 x 900 = 216
The ratio of males to females working in the HR department is 6:11 means
Number of females in HR department = 11/6 x 180 = 330
One ninth of the females work in the IT. So, Number of females work in IT department = 1/9 x 900 = 100
42% of the males work in the Production. So, number of males work in the Production
= 42/100 x 1500 = 630
Number of females is working in the Production department is 10% of the males working in the same.
Number of females work in the Production = 10/100 x 630 = 63
Number of females working in the marketing department = 900 - (216 + 330 + 100 + 63) = 191
The total number of employees working in the IT department is 285.
Number of males working in IT = 285 - 100 = 185
22% of the males work in the Marketing department.
Number of males males work in the Marketing department = 22/100 x 1500 = 330
Number of males works in Accounts = 1500 - (180 + 630 + 185 + 330) = 1500 -1325 = 175
total number of females working in the HR and Marketing departments together = 330 + 191 = 521
