Which of the following is not correct?a)The metallic conduction is du...
Explanation:

Metallic conduction and electrolytic conduction are two types of conduction that occur in different mediums and involve different mechanisms.

Metallic conduction:
- Metallic conduction is the conduction of electricity in metals.
- It is due to the movement of free electrons in the metal.
- Metals have a lattice structure in which the outermost electrons of metal atoms are not strongly bound to any particular atom and are free to move throughout the lattice.
- These free electrons can easily move in response to an applied electric field, creating an electric current.
- The conductivity of metals depends on the number of free electrons available for conduction.
- Metallic conduction increases with an increase in temperature because higher temperatures increase the thermal vibrations of the metal atoms, which in turn increases the frequency of electron collisions and enhances the movement of free electrons.

Electrolytic conduction:
- Electrolytic conduction is the conduction of electricity in electrolytes, which are solutions containing ions.
- It is due to the movement of ions in the solution.
- In an electrolyte, when an electric current is applied, positive ions (cations) move towards the negative electrode (cathode), and negative ions (anions) move towards the positive electrode (anode).
- This movement of ions constitutes the flow of electric current in the electrolyte.
- Electrolytic conduction is not affected by temperature in the same way as metallic conduction.
- In fact, the conductivity of electrolytes generally decreases with an increase in temperature.
- This is because higher temperatures increase the kinetic energy of the ions, causing them to move more vigorously and collide with each other, which hinders their overall movement and reduces conductivity.

Answer:
The correct answer is option 'D' - The metallic conduction increases with the increase in temperature, whereas that of electrolytic conduction decreases with temperature.

The metallic conduction decreases with increase in temperature, but electrolytic conduction increases with the increase in temperature. Because the metallic conduction is due to the movement of electrons in the metal and the electrolytic conduction is due to the movement of ions in the solution.
