Incorrect Statements Explained:

Statement (ii):
- Secondary sewage treatment is not mainly a mechanical process. It involves biological processes such as activated sludge treatment, trickling filters, and rotating biological contactors.

Statement (iv):
- Biogas, commonly known as gobar gas, is not pure methane. It is a mixture of gases such as methane, carbon dioxide, and small amounts of other gases like hydrogen sulfide and nitrogen.

Primary treatment is a physical process that involves the removal of large and small particles from sewage through filtration and sedimentation.
The secondary treatment or the biological treatment of sewage starts when the sewage is passed into large aeration tanks and mechanically agitated constantly, allowing the growth of ''flocs'' or mesh-like structures composed of fungal-algal filaments and aerobic bacteria. The effluent is passed into a secondary settling tank where bacterial flocs are allowed to sediment to form activated sludge, which is a rich source of aerobic bacteria.
Biogas is a mixture of gases, containing predominantly methane (50-70%), CO2 (30-40%), and traces of hydrogen, H2S and nitrogen.
