Its stra_8 geNe which is responsible for gametogenesis in males nD females nD stra 8 gene is controlled by retinoic acid...
Spermatogenesis doesnt oocur COz in males during foetal life ,,there is Anti mullarian hormone which comes from Sertoli cells under the influence of FSH . this Anti mullarian hormone metabolises the retinoic acid nD hence the stra 8 gene gets inhibited COz stra 8 gene is controlled by retinoic acid
and in females there is no anti mullarian hormone as a result retinoic acid doesn't gets metabolise nD it keeps stra 8 gene active hence oogenesis starts from foetal life in females.
