Planets are much larger than stars and have a solid surface. Stars, on the other hand, are much smaller and have a gaseous surface. The light from stars has to travel through several layers of gases before reaching Earth, which causes the light to scatter and bend, resulting in the twinkling effect. The solid surface of planets reflects the light back to Earth without any scattering or bending, which eliminates the twinkling effect.

Atmospheric conditions
