Explain why the planets do not twinkle?
Why don't the planets twinkle?

Introduction
When we look up at the night sky, we often see stars twinkling. However, the planets don't seem to twinkle. Why is that?

Reasons why stars twinkle
- Light from stars has to travel through Earth's atmosphere before reaching our eyes.
- As the light passes through the atmosphere, it is refracted or bent due to the varying density of air.
- This causes the light to scatter in different directions, which makes stars appear to twinkle.

Why planets don't twinkle
- Planets are much closer to Earth than stars, so their light doesn't have to travel through as much of Earth's atmosphere.
- Additionally, planets are much larger than stars, so their light source is spread out over a larger area.
- This means that any refraction or scattering of light that occurs in Earth's atmosphere is less noticeable with planets than with stars.
- Furthermore, planets don't emit their own light but rather reflect the light from the sun. This light is less prone to scattering and refraction because it is already diffused by the time it reaches Earth's atmosphere.

Conclusion
In summary, the reason why planets don't twinkle is due to their proximity to Earth, their large size, and the fact that they reflect sunlight rather than emit their own light.

Explain why the planets do not twinkle?
The Planets appear to be quite big to us( because they are much nearer to the earth). so, a planet can be considered to be a collection of very large number of point sources of light. the demining effect produced by some of the point sources of light in one part of the planet is nullified by the brighter effect produced by the point source of light and its other part. thus, on the whole, the brightness of a Planet always remains the same and hence it does not appear to Twinkle.
we can now say:
that the continuously changing atmosphere is unable to cause variations in the light coming from a big-sized planet (due to refraction) because of which the planet does not Twinkle at all.
