Important Dates and Events in CBSE Class 10 History

1. The First World War (1914-1918)
- The war started on 28th July 1914 and ended on 11th November 1918.

2. The Russian Revolution (1917)
- The Russian Revolution took place in 1917 and resulted in the overthrow of the Russian monarchy and the establishment of the Soviet Union.

4. The Non-Cooperation Movement (1920-1922)

5. The Salt March (1930)
- The Salt March, also known as the Dandi March, was a significant event in the Indian independence movement.
- It was led by Mahatma Gandhi and started on 12th March 1930.
- The march was a protest against the British monopoly on salt production and the salt tax.
- It involved a 240-mile journey from Sabarmati Ashram to the coastal village of Dandi, where Gandhi and his followers produced salt by evaporating seawater.

6. The Quit India Movement (1942)
- The Quit India Movement was launched by the Indian National Congress on 8th August 1942.
- It called for the immediate withdrawal of the British from India.
- The movement was met with severe repression by the British government, with many leaders being arrested.
- Despite the crackdown, the Quit India Movement played a crucial role in mobilizing public support for the independence struggle.
