If the cell is in hypertonic solution than exosmosis will take place.if it is in hypotonic solution than endosmosis will take place.if it is in isotonic solution than no exchange will take place.a cell place in isotonic solution is known as flaccid cell.if cell is placed in hypertonic solution then water will move out of the cell through exosmosis than it is known as plasmolysed cell and process is known as plasmolysis

When a cell kept in hypertonic solution it will be plasmolysed means it shrink because the concentration of water inside the cell is more as compared to outside and when cell is placed in hypotonic solution it become turgid and when it placed in isotonic solution it become flaccid means no change
