By what factor does the average velocity of a gaseous molecule increas...
Formulae for average velocity, most probable velocity and rms velocity are defined for sample of gas containing large number of molecules. That means they are statistical in nature. so predicting the average velocity for a molecule is not possible. the correct question should be the average velocity of molecules of gaseous sample and not the average velocity of a molecule. all may be correct because the velocity distribution curve includes all values.
