The concept of allele is for visualisation only.. alleles don't occur on genes.. it's pair of genes tht one frsegregate.. pair of genes here mean one of maternal origin nd one of paternal.. during gamete formation they segregate nd only one of them goes to one kind of gamete.. we represent them by alleles.. like t nd T.. only one of them goes to one gamete.. tht mns pair of one kind of gene segregate..nd chromosome consists dna nd part of dna tht can express certain character (makes protein) is gene..so it is the diff b/w chrmsm nd gene..
