Vapour pressure is inversely proportional to solute conc. hence order will be x>y>z but the max amunnt of solute which is able to dissolve is only 4g/100g of water hence any solute con. above 4 g will have same solubility as 4 g hance there vapur pressure will also remain same hence x and y soln will have same vapur pressure.

Solubility of Non-Volatile Salt

Definition:

The solubility of a non-volatile salt is the amount of salt that can be dissolved in a given amount of solvent, usually water, at a specific temperature and pressure.

Given Data:

  • Solubility of non-volatile salt = 4 g in 100 g water

  • Amount of salt added to system X = 2 g

  • Amount of salt added to system Y = 4 g

  • Amount of salt added to system Z = 6 g

Explanation:

The addition of non-volatile solute to a solution decreases its vapor pressure. Therefore, the order of vapor pressure in the three systems can be determined based on the amount of solute added.

  • System X: 2 g of salt is added to 100 g of water. The concentration of the solution is 2/100 = 0.02. The vapor pressure of the solution will be lower than pure water but higher than the other two systems.

  • System Y: 4 g of salt is added to 100 g of water. The concentration of the solution is 4/100 = 0.04. The vapor pressure of the solution will be lower than system X but higher than system Z.

  • System Z: 6 g of salt is added to 100 g of water. The concentration of the solution is 6/100 = 0.06. The vapor pressure of the solution will be the lowest among the three systems.

Conclusion:

The order of vapor pressure from highest to lowest is System X > System Y > System Z.
