Markup and Discount Calculation

Let's assume the cost price of the goods is Rs. 100.

Markup of 20% will increase the selling price to Rs. 120.

Discount of 10% on Rs. 120 will give a selling price of Rs. 108.

Cheating Calculation

The dealer is cheating both his supplier and buyer by 100 grams while buying or selling 1 kilogram.

So, he is actually buying and selling 900 grams instead of 1 kilogram.

Profit Calculation

The profit earned by the dealer can be calculated as follows:

Profit = Selling Price - Cost Price

Cost Price = Rs. 1000 (for 1 kilogram)

Selling Price = Rs. 1080 (for 900 grams)

Profit = Rs. 80

Percentage Profit = (Profit/Cost Price) x 100

Percentage Profit = (80/1000) x 100

Percentage Profit = 8%

However, this is not the final answer, as we need to convert the percentage profit to a percentage of the selling price.

Percentage Profit of Selling Price = (Percentage Profit/Cost Price) x 100

Percentage Profit of Selling Price = (8/120) x 100

Percentage Profit of Selling Price = 6.67%

Final Calculation

The dealer has earned a percentage profit of 6.67% after all the cheating and discounting.

However, the answer options do not match with the calculated answer. The closest option is (D) 32%, but it is not the correct answer. Therefore, there may be an error in the question or answer options provided.
