If Arun doubles his speed, he needs 3 hour less. Double speed means half time. Hence, half of the time required by Arun to cover 30 km = 3 hours

According to the question,
Time taken by Arun - Time taken by Anil = 2 hours
=> 30/y - 30/x = 2
=> 15(y-x) = xy --- (1)
If Arun doubles his speed, then he would take 1 hour less than Anil.
=> 30/2y - 30/x = -1
=> 15/x - 15/y = 1
=> y - x = 15 --- (2)
Solving equation (1) and (2), we get:
y = 10 kmph (Arun's speed)
x = 5 kmph (Anil's speed)
Therefore, the answer is option (B) 5 kmph.
