The acid insoluble fraction typically includes organic compounds such as proteins, nucleic acids, polysaccharides, and lipids. These compounds, with the exception of lipids, generally have molecular weights in the range of ten thousand daltons and above, categorizing them as macromolecules or biomacromolecules. This classification is based on their size and complexity, distinguishing them from smaller micromolecules which have molecular weights less than one thousand dalton.
