What is difference between ports& value of engines?
Ports refer to specific communication endpoints in a network or a computer system that are used for sending and receiving data. There are two main types of ports: physical ports and virtual ports.
1. Physical Ports: Physical ports are physical connectors on a device that allow for the physical connection of devices or cables. They are usually found on networking devices like routers, switches, and computers. Physical ports can be categorized into different types based on the type of connection they support, such as Ethernet ports, USB ports, HDMI ports, etc.
2. Virtual Ports: Virtual ports, also known as logical ports or software ports, are software-based endpoints that facilitate communication between different software applications or processes running on a computer system. These ports are assigned specific numbers known as port numbers and are used to identify specific services or applications. Virtual ports are used in protocols like TCP/IP to manage communication between different devices connected to a network.
In summary, physical ports are physical connectors that allow devices to physically connect, while virtual ports are software-based endpoints that facilitate communication between software applications or processes.
