PRINCIPLE: Everybody is under a legal obligation to take reasonable care to avoid and act or omission which he can take reasonable care to avoid and act or omission which he can foresee would injure his neighbour. Facts: Krishnan was driving a car at high speed in a crowded road and hit a cyclist, who died on the spot. A pregnant woman, Lakshmi, passing by suffered from a nervous shock and had an abortion. Lakshmi filed a suit claiming damages against Krishnan.
Analysis: Krishnan's act of driving at high speed was negligent and could have foreseeable consequences. However, the legal principle of the neighbor requires to establish if Krishnan owed a duty of care towards Lakshmi and if he breached that duty.

This question pertains to remoteness of damage, and the question here is whether or not krishnan could reasonably have foreseen that a pregnant womam would experience nervous shock on seeing the blood on the road and have an abortion . he could reasonably have foreseen the cyclist's death ,but not the remote consequence of someone else facing problems with that death so option B is correct.
