A train of 300 m is travelling with the speed of 45 km/h when it passes point A completely. At the same time, a motorbike starts from point A with the speed of 70 km/h. When it exactly reaches the middle point of the train, the train increases its speed to 60 km/h and motorbike reduces its speed to 65 km/h. How much distance will the motorbike travel while passing the train completely?

Speed of train while passing point
A = 70 x (5/18) m/s = VI
Speed of bike initially = 70 x (5/18) m/s = V2
Time taken by the bike to reach at the mid-point of the train = 1 5 0 /(V 2 - V I)
Again find out the new speeds of train and bike, and calculate the time taken by the bike to cover the rest 150 m distance relative to the train.

Time taken by bike = 150/((70-45)*1000) + 150/((65-60)*1000) 70-45 and 65-60 are the relative speed of bike as train and bike are moving in the same direction and 1000 to convert m to km time = 6/(7*25) avg speed of bike will be 2*65*70/(65+70) then distance covered by bike will be 2*65*70/(65+70) * 6/(7*25) = 2.311 which close to 2.37 so, answer is B

Given:
Length of the train = 300 m
Speed of the train = 45 km/h
Speed of the motorbike = 70 km/h
New speed of the train = 60 km/h
New speed of the motorbike = 65 km/h

To find: Distance traveled by the motorbike while passing the train completely

Approach:
1. Calculate the time taken by the train to pass point A completely
2. Calculate the distance covered by the train during this time
3. Calculate the distance between the train and the motorbike when the train increases its speed to 60 km/h and the motorbike reduces its speed to 65 km/h
4. Calculate the time taken by the motorbike to cover this distance
5. Add the time taken in step 1 and step 4 to get the total time taken by the motorbike to pass the train completely
6. Calculate the distance covered by the motorbike in this time

Calculation:
1. Time taken by the train to pass point A completely

Time = Distance/Speed
Speed = 45 km/h = 12.5 m/s
Distance = Length of the train = 300 m

Time taken = Distance/Speed = 300/12.5 = 24 seconds

2. Distance covered by the train during this time

Distance = Speed × Time = 12.5 × 24 = 300 m

3. Distance between the train and the motorbike when the train increases its speed to 60 km/h and the motorbike reduces its speed to 65 km/h

Relative speed = (60 + 65) km/h = 125 km/h = 34.72 m/s

Distance = Length of the train/2 = 150 m

Time taken = Distance/Relative speed = 150/34.72 = 4.31 seconds

4. Time taken by the motorbike to cover this distance

Distance = Length of the train + Distance covered by the train during this time = 300 + 300 = 600 m

Speed = (70 + 65)/2 = 67.5 km/h = 18.75 m/s

Time taken = Distance/Speed = 600/18.75 = 32 seconds

5. Total time taken by the motorbike to pass the train completely

Total time = Time taken in step 1 + Time taken in step 4 = 24 + 32 = 56 seconds

6. Distance covered by the motorbike in this time

Speed = 70 km/h = 19.44 m/s

Distance = Speed × Time = 19.44 × 56 = 1088.64 m ≈ 2.37 km

Therefore, the distance traveled by the motorbike while passing the train completely is 2.37 km.
