Verified Answer
In an election between two candidates, one got 55% of total valid vote...
Total number of votes = 7500

Given that 20% of Percentage votes were invalid

 => Valid votes = 80%

 Total valid votes = 7500*(80/100)

1st candidate got 55% of the total valid votes.

Hence the 2nd candidate should have got 45% of the total valid votes

=> Valid votes that 2nd candidate got = total valid votes x (45/100)

7500*(80/100)*(45/100) = 2700

Calculation of Total Valid Votes

Given that 20% of the votes were invalid, we first need to calculate the total number of valid votes cast in the election.
Total number of votes = 7500
Number of invalid votes = 20% of 7500 = 0.20 * 7500 = 1500
Number of valid votes = Total number of votes - Number of invalid votes = 7500 - 1500 = 6000

Calculation of Votes for the Candidate with 55%

Since one candidate received 55% of the total valid votes, we can calculate the number of votes this candidate received.
Votes for the candidate with 55% = 55% of 6000 = 0.55 * 6000 = 3300

Calculation of Votes for the Other Candidate

To find out the number of valid votes that the other candidate received, we subtract the votes received by the candidate with 55% from the total valid votes.
Votes for the other candidate = Total valid votes - Votes for the candidate with 55% = 6000 - 3300 = 2700

Therefore, the number of valid votes that the other candidate received was 2700.
