Fermentation   is the process by which glucose is converted into either alcohol or lactic acid in the absence of oxygen. It is also known as anaerobic respiration. Fermentation occurs in some bacteria, yeasts and in the muscles during heavy exercise.
Aerobic respiration is a process that breaks down food with the help of O2 to release energy. The chemical reaction is as follows:

 C6H12O6  + 6 O2  → 6 CO2 + 6 H2O  + Energy (ATP)

Hence, the end product in fermentation is either alcohol or lactic acid and in aerobic respiration, it is carbon dioxide, water and ATP.
