Given:
Length of the platform = 264 m
Time taken to cross the post = 8 sec
Time taken to cross the platform = 20 sec

To find: Speed of the train

Formula used:
Speed = Distance / Time

Calculation:
Let the speed of the train be ‘x’ m/s

When the train crosses the post, the distance covered by it = length of the train
∴ Distance = Length of the train = x * 8

When the train crosses the platform, the distance covered by it = length of the train + length of the platform
∴ Distance = Length of the train + Length of the platform = x * 20

Equating the above two equations, we get:
x * 8 = x * 20 - 264
8x = 20x - 264
12x = 264
x = 22 m/s

To convert m/s to km/hr, we multiply by 18/5
∴ Speed of the train = 22 * 18/5 = 79.2 km/hr

Therefore, the speed of the train is 79.2 km/hr.
