Let the speed of Giraffe be x km/h.

Distance covered by Giraffe in 4 hours = Speed × Time

⇒ Distance covered by Giraffe in 4 hours = x × 4

Distance covered by Lion in 4 hours = Speed × Time

⇒ Distance covered by Lion in 4 hours = 40 × 4

As the Lion catches the Giraffe, both cover the same distance.

∴ x × 4 = 40 × 4

⇒ x = 40/4

⇒ x = 10

Therefore, the speed of Giraffe is 10 km/h.
