Which of the following is not a major characteristic feature of biodiv...
Characteristics of Biodiversity Hotspots:

Abundance of Endemic Species:
Biodiversity hotspots are known for having a high number of endemic species, which are unique to that specific area and not found anywhere else in the world.

Large Number of Exotic Species:
Some biodiversity hotspots also have a significant number of exotic species, which are species that have been introduced to the area from other regions. These species can sometimes outcompete native species and disrupt the ecosystem.

Destruction of Habitat:
One of the major threats to biodiversity hotspots is habitat destruction. Due to factors such as deforestation, urbanization, and climate change, the natural habitats of these areas are being rapidly destroyed, leading to the loss of biodiversity.

Not a Major Characteristic Feature:
Large Number of Species:
While biodiversity hotspots do have a high level of species richness, this is not necessarily a defining characteristic. The focus of biodiversity hotspots is more on the presence of endemic species and the threat of habitat destruction, rather than simply the total number of species present.
