Tomato is a C3-plant and maize is a C4-plant. 
30 ATP are used in the synthesis of 1 molecule of hexose sugar in C
4
 cycle (Maize).
Therefore, 60 ATP are used in the synthesis of 2 molecules of hexose sugar in C
4
 cycle (Maize).
18 ATP are used in the synthesis of 1 molecule of hexose sugar in C3 cycle (Tomato).
Therefore, 36 ATP are used in the synthesis of 2 molecules of hexose sugar in C3 cycle ( Tomato).

So, the additional ATP used in the synthesis of 2 molecules of hexose sugar in maize is 60-36 = 24 ATP
