Carnot cycle is hypothetical cycle which is used to compare the thermal efficiency with actual cycles or engines..and comeing to your question..why does Carnot cycle efficiency depends on temperature limits…??
It is based on second Carnot principle..which says..
“The efficiency of all reversible heat engines operating between the same two reservoirs are the same”
It means that all reversible engines have the same thermal efficiency when operating between the same two reservoirs,that is the efficiency of a reversible engine is independent of the working fluid employed and it's properties,and the way is cycle executed.….and so the thermal efficiency of reversible heat engine is a function of the reservoir temperature only… hence..The efficiency of Carnot cycle is given by formula 1-T2/T1….and not as 1-Q2/Q1…
Increasing T1 and decreasing T2..efficiency increases..and for 100 % efficiency T2 should be zero ,which is not possible in actual case...
