Adaptive radiation is divergence or change in phenotype according to habitat. When organism leaves original niche and enter another (multiple) niche of different environments it undergoes changes to suit the new environment this is adaptive radiation.
Convergent evolution is when different species of different lineage arrive in a niche and they change their body to suit common environment. The organs may have different origin but function same.
eg Wings in bird are originated from Mesoderm.
Wings in Insect are originated from Ectoderm.
Both help to fly.
so they are not considered to be same.
