Solution:

Given, three resistances of 2, 3, and 4 ohm are connected in parallel.

When resistors are connected in parallel, the potential difference across each resistor is the same and the current flowing through each resistor is inversely proportional to its resistance.

Let V be the potential difference applied across the ends of the parallel combination of resistors.

Then, the equivalent resistance of the combination is given by:

1/R = 1/2 + 1/3 + 1/4

=> 1/R = (6+4+3)/(2x3x4)

=> R = 6/13 ohm

The current passing through each resistance is given by:

I1 = V/2, I2 = V/3, I3 = V/4

Therefore, the ratio of currents passing through the resistors is:

I1:I2:I3 = V/2 : V/3 : V/4

=> I1:I2:I3 = 6:4:3

Hence, the correct option is (a) 6:4:3.
