Mitotic anaphase differs from metaphase in possessing .ans is same no. Of chrom and half no of chromatids ?why?
Most Upvoted Answer
Mitotic anaphase differs from metaphase in possessing .ans is same no....
Introduction:
The process of mitosis is a vital mechanism for the division of cells. It involves several stages, including prophase, metaphase, anaphase, and telophase. Among these, anaphase and metaphase are two essential stages. While both stages are critical, they possess significant differences that distinguish them from each other.

Differences between Mitotic Anaphase and Metaphase:
The significant differences between mitotic anaphase and metaphase are as follows:

- Chromosome Separation: The most crucial difference between anaphase and metaphase is the separation of chromosomes. During metaphase, the chromosomes align themselves at the equator of the cell, whereas in anaphase, the chromosomes separate and move towards opposite poles.

- Chromosome Number: In metaphase, the chromosomes are at their highest number, with each chromosome consisting of two chromatids. However, in anaphase, the number of chromosomes remains the same, but each chromosome possesses only one chromatid.

- Sister Chromatid Separation: During anaphase, sister chromatids separate and move to opposite poles, whereas in metaphase, sister chromatids are still attached to each other.

- Spindle Fibers: During metaphase, the spindle fibers attach to the kinetochores and align the chromosomes at the equator. In anaphase, the spindle fibers pull the chromosomes towards opposite poles.

Explanation:
The differences between anaphase and metaphase are crucial for the successful division of cells. During mitosis, the chromosomes need to separate correctly, and the spindle fibers need to function correctly. Any mistakes during these stages can lead to genetic abnormalities and cellular abnormalities. Therefore, the differences between anaphase and metaphase are necessary for the accurate division of cells.

In summary, anaphase and metaphase are two essential stages of mitosis. While both stages are vital, they possess significant differences that distinguish them from each other. These differences include chromosome separation, chromosome number, sister chromatid separation, and spindle fibers. Understanding these differences is necessary for the accurate division of cells.

Mitotic anaphase differs from metaphase in possessing .ans is same no....
Mitotic anaphase differs from metaphase in possessing same number of chromosomes and half number of chromatids.

During anaphase of mitosis, chromosomes divide at the point of centromere or kinetochore and thus two sister chromatids are formed which are called as chromosomes.

Mitotic metaphase is the best stage to observe the structure, size and number of chromosomes in a cell. Centromeres of all chromosomes lie closely at equator and their arms in different directions towards poles Chromosomes are shortest. in metaphase but thickest in anaphase.
