This statement is not appropriate in relation to the legal principle stated above. According to the legal principle, an essential condition in a contract for sale of goods is that the seller has title over the goods sold. If Jatin's claim is true and the watch belongs to him, then Mohit did not have title to the watch and therefore could not transfer ownership to Ranjan. Ranjan would not become the owner of the watch even if he paid for it.
