Focal length of convex lens, f = 24 cm
Distance of lens from convex mirror, u = 12 cm
Distance of pin from lens, x = 36 cm

Using lens formula:
1/f = 1/v - 1/u
where v is the image distance

Image by lens:
1/f = 1/v - 1/u
1/24 = 1/v - 1/12
1/v = 1/24 + 1/12
1/v = (1 + 2)/24
1/v = 3/24
v = 24/3
v = 8 cm

Distance of lens from mirror:
Total distance = u + v
= 12 + 8
= 20 cm

Using mirror formula:
1/f_mirror = 1/u_mirror + 1/v_mirror
where u_mirror is the object distance from mirror and v_mirror is the image distance from mirror

Given that the image coincides with the object:
u_mirror = v_mirror = 20 cm

Substitute the values in mirror formula:
1/f_mirror = 1/20 + 1/20
1/f_mirror = 2/20
f_mirror = 20/2
f_mirror = 10 cm
Therefore, the focal length of the convex mirror is 10 cm, which corresponds to option B.
