**The common ingredients are sodium bicarbonate and citric acid which reacts with water to produce carbon dioxide and therefore effervescence. Some antacids also contain simethicone and alginic acid which controls gas and act as an acid barrier. Two well-known antacid brands are Eno and Alka-Seltzer.
