In a class, the number of boys and girls is in the ratio of 4 : 5. If ...
No.of boys(x)/no of girls(y)=4/5
if 10 more boys are added then,
(x+10)/y=6/5 or 5x+50=6y(eqn ii)
x/y=4/5 or 5x=4y(eqn i)
on substituting the value of 5x in eqn ii
4y+50=6y
2y=50
y=25
no.of girls in the class(y)= 25.

In a class, the number of boys and girls is in the ratio of 4 : 5. If ...
Given: Ratio of boys to girls in the class = 4 : 5

Let the number of boys in the class be 4x and the number of girls be 5x.

After 10 more boys join the class, the total number of boys becomes 4x + 10 and the ratio of boys to girls becomes 6 : 5.

So, we have:

(4x + 10)/(5x) = 6/5

Solving the above equation, we get:

20x + 50 = 30x

10x = 50

x = 5

Therefore, the number of boys in the class = 4x + 10 = 30

And the number of girls in the class = 5x = 25

Hence, option C (25) is the correct answer.
