Assuming atom is Hydrogen like.
Energy of nth orbit is given by
-13.6Z^2 / n^2 eV
So, Energy of 2nd orbit = -3.4 Z^2 eV and
Energy of 3rd orbit = -1.51 Z^2 eV
Difference in energy between 2ed and 3rd orbit = final energy - initial energy = 1.89 Z^2 eV
So, 1.89Z^2 = 47.2 , solve for Z and round off to the nearest integer
Z= 5
