v^2 = u^2 + 2as

where

s = distance travelled by the body = height of balloon = 81 m

On substituting the values in the above formula, we get:

0^2 = 0^2 + 2(10)(81)
0 = 0 + 1620
t = sqrt(1620/10)
t = sqrt(162)
t = 12.73 seconds (approx)

Therefore, the body will reach the surface of the earth in approximately 12.73 seconds.
