there are two reasons for power sharing to be desirable- prudential and moral reasons. prudential reasons are that it avoids conflicts. social conflicts leads to violence and political instability. imposing the will of majority community over minority may look like an attractive option in short run but later.. it can undermine the unity of our nation. moral reasons are that power sharing is the very spirit of democracy. a democratic rule involves power sharing with those who are affected by it here are two reasons for power sharing to be desirable- prudential and moral reasons.

When power does not rest in one hand and is shared among the different levels and organs of government this is called power sharing.
power sharing is important in a democracy because of the following reasons-->
# it reduces the conflict among various social groups.
# it promotes the spirit of democracy.
# in democracy power sharing is done which makes the people to have the power to elect their own rulers through voting, and also ensure that different forms of government does not misuse their power.
# the people have hand in shaping those policies which prove dangerous to them.
