Glycolysis pathway trick ?
Glycolysis is a metabolic process that converts glucose into pyruvate. It is an important pathway in cellular respiration as it provides energy for the cell. Here is a trick to remember the glycolysis pathway:

Mnemonic:
Girls Love Science But Don't Prefer Frivolous Nonsense

Explanation:
Each letter in the mnemonic stands for a step in the glycolysis pathway:

1. Glucose
2. Glucose-6-phosphate
3. Fructose-6-phosphate
4. Fructose-1,6-bisphosphate
5. Dihydroxyacetone phosphate
6. Glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate
7. 1,3-bisphosphoglycerate
8. 3-phosphoglycerate
9. 2-phosphoglycerate
10. Phosphoenolpyruvate
11. Pyruvate

Steps:
Here are the steps of the glycolysis pathway:

1. Glucose is converted to glucose-6-phosphate by the enzyme hexokinase.
2. Glucose-6-phosphate is converted to fructose-6-phosphate by the enzyme phosphohexose isomerase.
3. Fructose-6-phosphate is converted to fructose-1,6-bisphosphate by the enzyme aldolase.
4. Fructose-1,6-bisphosphate is split into dihydroxyacetone phosphate and glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate by the enzyme aldolase.
5. Dihydroxyacetone phosphate is converted to glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate by the enzyme triose phosphate isomerase.
6. Glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate is converted to 1,3-bisphosphoglycerate by the enzyme glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase.
7. 1,3-bisphosphoglycerate is converted to 3-phosphoglycerate by the enzyme phosphoglycerate kinase.
8. 3-phosphoglycerate is converted to 2-phosphoglycerate by the enzyme phosphoglycerate mutase.
9. 2-phosphoglycerate is converted to phosphoenolpyruvate by the enzyme enolase.
10. Phosphoenolpyruvate is converted to pyruvate by the enzyme pyruvate kinase.

Conclusion:
By using this trick, one can easily remember the steps of the glycolysis pathway. It is important to note that glycolysis is an anaerobic process and occurs in the cytoplasm of cells. The pyruvate produced in glycolysis can be further metabolized in the Krebs cycle and oxidative phosphorylation to produce ATP.
